about
In 1976, a prayer from a prisoner, entitled “Patrona de los Reclusos”, was turned into music by Colombian musicians Enrique “Kike” Bonfante and “Maestro” Julio Estrada “Fruko” with the voice of Joe Arroyo as “The Latin Brothers”. That year, Discos Fuentes, on the day of the Virgen de la Merced, September 24, released the song and it immediately became one of the world's salsa songs. My edit goes with a salsa soul, a cumbia touch and a jazzy downtempo groove, is dedicated to all captives, humans and animals, physical and spiritually captive and all those who are the most marginalized in society such as refugees, exiles, immigrants or prisoners. I Hope this can make you dance and let you feel less reclus@s
